The School Garden Club

Our school started a garden club this spring. Every Wednesday after class, eight of us dig, plant, and water vegetables behind the cafeteria.

We grow lettuce, basil, and tomatoes. Ms. Park taught us how compost turns old banana peels into rich black dirt.

Last week we harvested enough to make a salad for the staff lunch. Seeing my homeroom teacher eat a tomato I grew was the best feeling.
