Cities Redesigned Around Walking

From Paris's fifteen-minute city to Seoul's "super block" pilots, major are being redesigned around the pedestrian rather than the car.
New zoning requires schools, groceries, and clinics within a short walk of every home. Streets are narrowed, sidewalks widened, and bus lanes repainted every year.
Early results look promising: air quality improves, traffic deaths drop, and local businesses report a 12% jump in foot .
Not all residents are happy. Delivery drivers and car commuters often bear the costs. Still, the research is clear: walkable cities are measurably for the people who live in them.
