Auditioning for the School Play

I tried out for the spring play for the first time ever. My hands shook while I held the script on stage.

The director asked me to read the same paragraph three ways — angry, sad, and confused. By the third read I actually enjoyed it.

Two days later, the cast list was posted. I got a small speaking role with four lines. In my house, that is basically a Broadway star debut.
