What Exit Interviews Are Telling Us

HR reviewed all 58 exit interviews from the past quarter. Three themes emerged with consistency.
First, compensation no longer led the list; career growth did. Second, several employees cited a specific manager cluster as the trigger for leaving. Third, flexibility remained non-negotiable for most departures.
The data has been shared with executive leadership with names redacted but department-level patterns intact. Two managers received targeted plans.
Promotions and lateral moves were revealed to be the single largest driver in this sample. The lesson: if people cannot grow here, they will grow .
