Helping Build a Treehouse

Dad and I decided to build a small treehouse in our big oak. We drew a simple plan on grid paper over dinner.

I learned how to use a real hammer and measuring tape. I hit my own thumb twice, but I only cried a little the first time.

The finished treehouse is eight feet up with a tiny window. I go up there with a book and a snack almost every warm afternoon.
