Learning Sign Language for a Classmate

A deaf student named Oliver joined our homeroom this year. At first, only the counselor knew how to sign with him.

A group of us decided to learn basic sign language online after school. We practiced greetings, food words, and how to ask for help.

The first time I signed "Do you want to sit with us at lunch?" Oliver grinned so wide. Now five of us eat together every day, talking with our hands.
