Practicing Parking with Dad

I finally got my learner's permit. Dad took me to an empty mall parking lot to practice parallel parking.

The first ten tries, the car ended up crooked or too far from the curb. Dad stayed calm — barely. I saw his hand grip the door handle once.

On try number fifteen, everything clicked. Perfect angle, perfect distance. Dad cheered and honked the horn twice in the empty lot.
