The Summer Typhoon

The strongest typhoon in ten years hit our town last summer. Our neighborhood lost power for two days.

We lit candle, read books by their soft light, and shared food with the old couple next door. It was scary but also oddly warm. Afterwards, my neighbors waved more often.
